In its fourth year, the employee-led Lozier Community Grants program supported 50 nonprofit organizations across the country in 2025. These are the 2025 recipient organizations’ stories of impact.

Jackson County Children’s Advocacy Center is an agency that fosters hope, promotes healing and seeks justice for victims of child abuse. Working in Scottsboro, Alabama, the nonprofit serves hundreds of children every year, using its resources to provide a safe, healing environment for children and families.

The Children’s Advocacy Center will use Lozier Community Grant funding to partially complete a new trauma-sensitive room, offering its clients more comfort, with the long-term impact to making the center more accessible and welcoming.

“When children come to us, they have somewhere nice to go and have all the resources they need in one place,” Executive Director Miranda Corona said. “It’s also important that when they come here, we have everything we need in our forensic interview room so that they only have to tell their story once.”

The Jackson County Children’s Advocacy Center is the only one in the area that has all the highly-trained staff to complete the forensic interviews and provide therapy at no cost to the children or families. Along with forensic interviews, the advocacy center also provides therapy to children, completing more than 600 sessions last year.

“Without these resources and support from the community, we cannot create the kind of safe, healing environment our families urgently need,” Corona said. “The funding ensures that trauma-informed design principles are applied with care and cultural relevance, and that our facility reflects the quality of services we provide.”
