Omaha interns take group outing to The Corky Canvas

Interns from the Omaha plants and Main Office took part in a colorful group outing at The Corky Canvas on Thursday afternoon.

Senior Training and Development Specialist Julie Hamilton, Training and Development Specialist Amy Walker and Administrative Assistant Kate Horton joined in on the fun.

Attending the outing was a change of pace from a usual day of work at Lozier, with the individuals each creating personalized wooden signs with paint and stencils. An instructor guided the group on wood board preparation, stencil application and the painting process.

The Learning and Development team has facilitated the internship program this summer, planning the curriculum of the program. At the beginning of the summer, the interns attended a DISC Communication workshop and an Ice Cream Social where they met their mentors for the first time.

So far, they have discussed important topics ranging from constructive feedback to workplace etiquette and expectations. The interns will continue to build relationships with their mentors by meeting on a regular basis throughout the rest of the summer.

In the coming weeks, they will take part in another educational class, a group volunteer activity and more.
