Monday, Platteview High School received 1,800 pounds of bracket scrap coupons for the school’s welding program. Ben Craney, first shift Maintenance Supervisor in the North Plant, picked up the scrap donation from OneOmaha and delivered it to his father’s class in Springfield, Nebraska.

The North Plant again had scrap donation recipients on Tuesday, with Bellevue Public Schools receiving 4,000 pounds of steel for its welding and fabrication classes. Joseph Nadgwick, Bellevue West Industrial Technology Instructor, will use the bracket steel coupons to teach students welding and the larger sheets will be used for the plasma cutter.

Joseph’s father and brother worked in Skilled Trades at Lozier, and his brother Mike Nadgwick still works at Lozier as an Electrical Mechanical Technicians (Maintenance). Manufacturing and Skilled Trades run deep in the Nadgwick family.
