Bellevue high school skilled trade students tour Lozier’s Omaha operations

HR Business Partner Zach Wagner leads a group of students through the North Plant.

50 high school students from Bellevue East and West high schools spent Friday afternoon at Lozier’s North Plant for lunch, presentations and a tour of Lozier’s facilities.

Prior to the Lozier tour, the Omaha area students visited Metropolitan Community College’s Fort Omaha and South Omaha campuses, including the Center for Advanced Manufacturing and Automotive Training Center. The two visits were designed to help students explore careers in welding, manufacturing, automotive or diesel technicians, HVAC, plumbing, electricians and more.

Senior Training and Development Specialist Joe Collins showcases how we work.

Lozier employees Joe Collins, Josh Gear, Ralph Kleinsmith and Zach Wagner led the students around the North Plant, showcasing who we are and what we do along with answering questions about Manufacturing.

Each student in the group is currently taking classes or coursework directly related to Skilled Trades, including careers in Electrical Mechanical and Precision Machining where Lozier offers a Sponsorship for the Trades career program. Students learn the trade and work at Lozier, combining their learning with real, hands-on experience, while the company covers the cost of their education.

Lozier employees who refer a successful applicant to the program receive the company’s $1,000 hiring bonus.
