In its fourth year, the employee-led Lozier Community Grants program supported 50 nonprofit organizations across the country in 2025. These are the 2025 recipient organizations’ stories of impact.

Since 1952, ADEC, Inc has been dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Over the years, the organization has flourished and expanded to provide vital programs and services across Elkhart and St. Joseph counties. By focusing on empowerment, the operation pushes for those with disabilities to have equal access to opportunities as valued members of their community.
ADEC provides several services including day programs, residential services, community employment, children and family services, therapy and more. Hundreds of individuals utilize the organization’s day services, working toward personal goals in a community-based environment that focuses on creativity and goal-setting.
One of the operation’s most recent updates included adding an outdoor greenspace. The goal of the newly added space is to enhance the quality of life of those the organization serves by providing increased social interaction opportunities and sensory engagement activities.
Lozier’s 2025 Community grant funding directly supported the completion of ADEC’s Outdoor Programming space, which transformed the outside area into a safe, accessible, and therapeutic environment.
