Asha Deshpande, Director of Analytics, was recently honored by Nebraska Women in Technology with the 2026 Mentor of the Year Award.
This award is given to a person who has invested time and energy into lifting others and honors a Nebraska-based woman who has profoundly impacted others through guidance and inspiration. She is dedicated to fostering growth, creating an inclusive environment, and empowering people to thrive in tech.
“I am truly humbled and honored to receive the ‘2026 Nebraska Women in Technology Mentor of the Year Award’,” said Deshpande. “This recognition gave me a moment to pause and reflect on my career and journey in data and technology. I am also grateful to all the people who supported, trusted, challenged and inspired me along the way. It was especially meaningful to receive this recognition amidst my family, friends, colleagues, attendees, and the incredible data and tech community that continues to inspire and support one another. I am looking forward to continuing mentoring, learning, and giving back to the community.”
Throughout her career, Deshpande has mentored several IT and data professionals with varied roles. Her mentees often say she “believes in your potential before you see it yourself,” as she mentors with empathy and compassion, helping them grow in confidence.
“To me, mentorship is a process of guiding with empathy, building trust, providing constructive feedback, empowering, and creating a space where people can grow both technically and professionally,” said Deshpande.
“It is a two-way track, and it is a win-win relationship for both the mentee and the mentor. True mentorship is not just about sharing knowledge; it’s about empowering them to realize their potential and in turn uplift others and make an impact.”

Women in Technology provides a space for women to grow, connect and learn in the IT industry. It creates opportunities and brings new perspectives to the technology industry while emphasizing the importance of women in the technology space.
