70 for 70: Before the Store Fixture Business was the Gordon Lozier Corporation

Before the modern Lozier as we know it today began operations in the former East Plant in 1956, was the Gordon Lozier Corporation. Starting his air conditioning and refrigeration family business out of his garage in the heart of Omaha, Gordon Lozier incorporated his business in August of 1946.

This newspaper archive from August 15, 1946 shares Lozier’s incorporation story, expanding on Gordon’s air conditioning and refrigeration sales and services family business.

“The general nature of the business to be transacted by this corporation shall be to operate a general air conditioning and refrigeration sales and service business; to buy, sell, design, manufacture, service, install, repair, and care for all kinds of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment and fixtures and all other persona l property of everything kind and description either retail or wholesale.”

This incorporation paved the way for the Lozier we know today, which started a decade later when the company moved to the East Plant and began the Lozier Line. Lozier recognizes this year in 1956 as the start of the company. Through innovation and countless product iterations, Lozier remains a national leader and innovator, from warehouse automation partnerships to ASRS racking developments.
