Bellevue West High School Collects Steel Donation in Preparation for School Start

Machine Operator Jackie Schaben loaded 2,000lbs of large blank sheet steel for Bellevue West High School Monday. The Omaha area high school sent Joe Nadgwick, son of long-time Lozier employee David Nadgwick who has since retired, to pick up the donation. Although school is not yet in session, Nadgwick took initiative to prepare for his fabrication class in the fall.

Bellevue West students in the class have created items like the Lozier Fire pit that was donated to Lozier and then raffled in a fundraiser benefitting the United Way. Nadgwick hopes to inspire his students to craft another fire pit for Lozier using the skills and talents they learn over this next school year.

Lozier’s new Director of Human Resources Lisa Taylor-Jones was part of the team that helped make the Frank Kumor Career Center a reality. The career center is where the Bellevue West students receive their skilled trades training.
