In its fourth year, the employee-led Lozier Community Grants program supported 50 nonprofit organizations across the country in 2025. These are the 2025 recipient organizations’ stories of impact.
The Boys & Girls Club of North Alabama works to inspire and enable all young people to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. The Ben Sanford Branch in Scottsboro, Alabama, helps encourage students in academic success, character and leadership, health, wellbeing, life and workforce readiness.
Kids attend the Boys & Girls Club after school and throughout the day in summertime; the operation serves up to 100 kids at one time at the Ben Sanford Branch. STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Career Pathways is a major focus of the program this year. Students participate in weekly hands-on challenges related to STEM subjects. The Boys & Girls Club partners with local colleges where students in STEM fields prepare lessons and activities to help kids engage with STEM thinking and activities.
Through the Lozier Community Grant, the Boys &Girls Club will be able to help more kids get early, hands-on STEM experiences and learn about real careers in fields like aerospace, IT, and biotech. It also will help students at the Ben Sanford Branch build skills, explore careers and get inspired to be part of Alabama’s future workforce.
