In its fourth year, the employee-led Lozier Community Grants program supported 50 nonprofit organizations across the country in 2025. These are the 2025 recipient organizations’ stories of impact.
Hearts and Hammers works to enhance the well-being of the community by providing free home repair for homeowners who cannot perform the work themselves because of physical or financial limitations. The all-volunteer crew offers an extra hand to anyone who needs it, doing odd jobs around the house or assisting in any other way they can in Joplin, Missouri.
Common operations include home maintenance or improving mobility access by building wheelchair ramps. Lozier’s Community Grant will help Hearts and Hammers purchase wood, fasteners and any other materials the volunteer crews need to complete the job.
In 2024, Hearts and Hammers was able to build 63 wheelchair ramps at homes that needed them, making up almost half of the operations they complete. Each September, Hearts and Hammers hosts a workday, where as many as 150 volunteers show up to help the senior citizens, single parents or low-income families with home repairs.
