With the help of Machine Operator Elizabeth Parker, Zach Vercoe and Rob Dockter loaded up six pallets of wood boards for the Iowa Western Community College (IWCC) Construction Program. IWCC Construction Program Director Carey Cochran, who was a past participant of the Lozier Externship Program, asked if Lozier would be willing to donate materials to benefit students in the college’s Construction program.
The Externship program connects educators around the Omaha Metropolitan area to Lozier, building awareness of the company’s educational outreach and career opportunities for Omaha-area graduates after high school and college.
Carey and another instructor took time out of there day to pick up the donation of obsolete wood, distributing the boards to all three IWCC construction program sites in Missouri Valley, Clarinda and Council Bluffs, Iowa. It took three trips for the 18,000lbs of obsolete boards to make it to classes, ready to be used in student education during construction classes and projects.
