Lozier’s first checkout design is on display in the Main Office. Sitting alongside Lozier’s original 1956 gondola line example, the checkout also serves as a historical example of Lozier’ work. This checkout was manufactured in 50 years ago in 1976 and has been installed in a Beaver Springs, PA store since.

Near Lozier’s McClure facility, the Beaver Springs store was sold and rebranded in 2022. Lozier offered to replace the stores checkouts in exchange for receiving those original checkouts. The Product Engineering Team in Omaha then refurbished the checkout, bringing it to its original configuration without a scanner. The motorized belt is also original and in working function today.

Today the checkout is flanked by one of Lozier’s newest checkout design offerings, and sits near Lozier’s line of self checkout options.
