Two high schools receive scrap steel donations from Omaha in November

Recently, two schools received scrap steel donations from Lozier. Hamburg Public Schools’ welding instructor from their recently created welding program traveled from Hamburg, Iowa, to Lozier’s Omaha location to pick up donated steel 12-gauge coupons. Students in the program will use the donated steel to learn the craft of welding.

Last week, Millard South High School received a pallet of 22-gauge scrap shelf tops. In class, students will learn how to cut, bend, and weld light gauge steel as compared to heavy gauge steel. Lozier employees from the Millard school system in the Sponsorship for the Trades program or recent graduates of the program include Dallin Gardner, Wyatt Simpson, Will Hyland, Jayden Bladt and Jenson Groff.
